saban lacyMIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — The drought is over.

Chris was able to overcome a perfect score by Joie on New Year’s Eve, and hold off two time defending champion Joyce to win his second bowl pool, and first since 1998.

Going into the BCS Championship Game it was all but wrapped up. Joyce or Joie would need a perfect score to edge Chris. The Crimson Tide had different plans however, scoring 42 points in a blowout victory over Notre Dame. Both Joyce and Joie had too much faith in the Irish defense, and the bowl pool had been decided before the half.

“We’re going for it next year again,” said Chris, the owner of two bowl pool titles. “And again. And again. And again. I love to win.”

Chris got off to an incredibly hot start, scoring 6 points in 5 out of the 7 first games. He then when on a mini slump, getting back to back 0’sin the Alamo and Buffalo Wild Wing Bowls. This allowed Joyce, and Joie to get back into the mix. He bounced back though, scoring 6 points six more times in the remaining games.

“They just did what Chris does,” moaned Marty Jr., All time wins leader.

When asked how it felt after the game Chris said, “pretty good, but I don’t want to be the one who has to deal with the plaque.”
